Does the Mac version work with Apple Silicon (M1)?
Yes! Render Boss works well with Apple Silicon.
Currently it uses the Rosetta 2 emulation layer, and while we do have plans to make a native version, Render Boss does not use significant resources by itself, so the performance gains (if any) would be minimal. Especially since there is no native version After Effects itself as of this writing.
In our tests with a Mac Mini M1, staying at or below 4 threads was best, depending on how heavy the comp is, and how much ram the machine has. For heavy projects, adding threads might make the renders actually slower (you can check the ‘Secs. Per Frame – Overall’ box in the Render Boss app to see how fast the render is going)
